'I have launched a new web site' ! WOW ! that's great says the other friend. But the problem is nobody visits my web site. My web site is on the net since a year and only 86 hits, that also, given by me.

Yes friends ! driving traffic to your web site totally free of cost is one of the most common and saddest problem faced by web designers today. After spending so much time building attractive websites they really feel down and lose confidence when nobody visits it. On the other hand this issue is taken up by other web owners as a mode of revenue. I'll tell you how people start making websites titled as <a href="http://www.trafficbuilder.com" target="_blank">www.trafficbuilder.com</a>,www.trafficswarm.com,www.bighits.net,www.trafficmultiplier.net, and surely these websites are getting over 60,000 hits a day because even a smallest webmasters wants to make his site popular.

Generally these websites are working in partnership. Each web site displays the description and banner of the partner site on it. When people get to know even about one of the web site in the ring they immediately get to know about their partners. Each unique visitor gives non-repeating visits to these websites and this increases traffic. Basically, making a site and keeping it unknown and isolated(except hacking sites) never helps.

Now, these days the trend of FFA(free for all) link pages has also emerged. It is a very long page containing over 100 links at a time. Who would waste so much time reading that stuffed thing. Hence,I would advise you not to go wasting your time in getting your link on such pages until and unless your link is the 1st.

Web designing includes 2 main steps:-

1) Building an attractive web site

2) Making that web site popular enough so that the internet using population knows about it



Who is not familiar about our Google? One of the most fastest and biggest search engine.Who is unaware of altavista,yahoo,infoseek,rediff.All these search engines accept your URL and crawl the webpages and index them in the databases.This is the method followed by all the search engines.Submit your site to all these search engines at once and see your counter boosting.Getting listed in google is the first priority as webcrawler.com,askjeeves.com,myway.com,alexa.com all these websites filter the result of google only.Url added to google takes 1month(subject to change as this depends on the search engine's next crawl) to appear in the search results with full description and title.

The next problem is -Your website is listed in all search engines but when somebody searches for it,it is not there in the first top ten results.imagine your website appearing somewhere on the thousandth page.Who would know about it?To correct this problem websites like netmechanic.com give you a meta tag built page.This can be manually added as given below:



I your website doesnot have this it is beyond a search engine's reach.Try putting the best description and cover the most common keywords entered by the user for a particular topic to which your website is related.

Putting your website in a frame is a disadvantage and therefore this trend is losing popularity these days.This is because when a webpage(especially the home page) is framed,its cache by the search engine is not taken by the content present in the webpage but from the tag.So at the time of searching the relevant content is not extracted and your website is not displayed in the 1st ten results.
